The Office

One thing I've been watching for awhile but not writing about is The Office (American version). My friend got me into it when we used to watch The OC every Thursday, probably about halfway through season 3, so I've been watching the first few seasons ofn Netflix. I wanted to catch up before season 4 started but obviously that didn't happen--we're now about to the point where I started watching. One interesting thing that I didn't catch the first time around is how they made Roy into such a dick while he and Pam were engaged. I think when I started they had just broken up, and Jim was starting to date Karen. I wish they did more with the tertiary characters. Stanley is my ultimate favorite, followed closely by Kelly and Phyllis.
The first few season 4 episodes were not so great (I don't think they can sustain an hour), but last night's was pretty good ("Climb on top of her and think of Stanley!")

Andrea, love your blog. I love The Office also. I recently went back and started watching season one again and Steve Carell is off in the first few episodes. He's trying way too hard to be funny instead of the massive incompetent leader he made the character into later. Love Stanley but my favorite is Toby in Meredith. The genius of the show is they create full characters for people who may not even have dialog for four episodes.

Crap. I wrote "Toby In Meredith" instead of Toby AND Meredith. That's a completely different show. Hey, while I am still here, if you haven't checked out It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia or Arrested Development, do yourself a favor and give them a watch.

I'm out again,
Jim

Love it's always sunny! It helps that I work in Philadelphia. The line that cracked me up most from last night's ep was charlie's "crazier than dogs that bite? crazier than cats that poop in boxes while biting you??"

I heart The Office, but I don't think any season will be as incredible as S2. Not to say they've "jumped the shark" (worst phrase ever!), and I still enjoy the show, but S2 was pure magic.

Anyway, great blog!

SHAME
“The world is a dangerous place. Not because of the people who are evil; but because of the people who don’t do any thing about it.” –Albert Einstein-
One of the modus operandi of all arm suppliers and dealers in the world arms market is to give "commission" or "corruption" indirectly to the decision makers.

Payment of corruption money are done very professionally so that it does not incriminate the arms supplier, These arm suppliers will pay any amount of commission demanded as long as they are not implicated as some of them are PLC.

In this case, it will not be uncommon for, Altantuya Shaariibuu to be a nominee conduit for receiving the large amount of commission for arms deals. Her name could be used as a nominee but the funds (money laundered in Singapore and Hong Kong) received actually goes to the sexist(MISAGYNIST/WOMAN HATER) Abdul Razak Baginda/NAJIB TUN RAZAK the UMNO(NATZIS/RACISTS) pukita cronies who share in the loot. Mongolian nominees are preferred by Russian suppliers as most Mongolians speak Russian.

This Altantuya Shaariibuu relationship with Abdul Razak Baginda was obviously more than “lover” and it is crystal clear she know more than she should.

So, her explosives disintegration with C4 type episode with directives from the top. NAJIB TUN RAZAK, Rosmah, Khairy & Scomi who are involved in arms deals are clearly involved.

Who are the UMNO (XENOPHOBIC/ANTI-SEMITIC) minister who
are going to France, Spain, Italy, Russia & South Africa to buy arms recently?

Who are the other UMNO (MASTERS of DEATH) pukitra ministers beside Najib Tun Razak, who have visited Ulaan Baatar in the last three years??? The long and endless list of Malaysia’s international laws and human-rights violations can no longer be ignored!!!
This is a international security crisis that will be lethal to human rights world peace and safety.
The International community must demand a multi-national investigation on to the ASSASSINATION of Translator/Interpreter & Business women Altantuya Shaariibuu along with the Malaysia’s illegal arms trade! Mongolia must break all diplomatic relations with Malaysia and state this case to the INTERNATIONAL COURT of JUSTICE alert and demand the United Nations Security Council to take action and that The United States’ State Deportment to also take action for this is a Human’s rights violation and a security issue that affects the United States directly. Malaysians must demand answers to what these anti-Democratic UMNO(NATZI PARTY) pukitra Islamist FASCIST(With connections to HAMAS, Hizballah, AL-QAIDA and IRAN) are doing in the name of protecting the so called “Malay Race” ,”Islamic religion” and the “Nation” !
Why the U.T.K(THE “SS” MASTERS of DEATH/TERRORISTS),(NATZI)Army, who authorized SUPPLIERS of the malleable explosive believed to be "C4" (Composition 4). Bear in mind that Abdul Razak Baginda is a BROKER INTERMEDIARY/PROXY for those(ASSASSINS/EXECUTIONERS) HIDDEN TOP GUNS of the DEFENSE FORCE with the SUPPLIER (Specifically, the Malaysian Armed Forces). Therefore, it is a standard nature of forwarding of samples of their product in this case to be tested. Personally, I think these people, Baginda and his family, including the two police officers, are the most disgusting people on the globe as same as those terrorists who killed thousands of people on September 11, 2001 by using civilian airplane as missiles.

Who authorizes those people to use airplane as missiles? Who authorizes those people to use military explosives to kill an innocent woman?

[10/24/2007 10:11:04 PM] Avitov Mianoel Valdes-Munoz II says: Malaysia- Is it a good destination to learn English?
A fellow press friend of mine yesterday asked me which country, Malaysia or Singapore, is good destination to learn English. I advised her to study in Singapore, where I studied English too five years ago, a safe country that has strict rule of law. Malaysia is a country where an innocent Mongolian woman was shot to death and exploded into pieces by military-use C4 explosive fastened to her body. I will say this sentence to everybody asked me about Malaysia. This will be recalled for the people of Mongolia every time we think of Malaysia.

Malaysia is no longer a destination for Mongolians either to study or travel. I heard a number of Mongolians going Malaysia to study has been decreased a lot since last year when our beloved mother of two was killed in a jungle outside KL.

I have been to Malaysia actually, when I was studying in Singapore. I remember that when I was under passport control at the Singapore-Malaysia border, a Malay passport controller smiled at me and told me "Bat Khaan! Genghis Khan!". He said something to his fellow customs officers in Malaysian and told me "Welcome to Malaysia!". My first impression on the country of Malaysia had this wonderful start. I felt like I was the first Mongolian coming to Malaysia. We will not hear this nice welcoming from a passport controller of Russia now, a country what we believed as "brother in steel friendship" for over 70 years in the past under Soviet ally.

At that time, how can we know that a Mongolian woman will be killed in this country brutally and her entrance record will be deleted from immigration database. Personally, I think these people, Baginda and his family, including the two police officers and Najib Tun Razak in who gave the order, are the most disgusting people on the globe as same as those terrorists who killed thousands of people on September 11, 2001 by using civilian airplane as missiles.

Who authorizes those people to use airplane as missiles? Who authorizes those people to use military explosives to kill an innocent woman?

Andrea, i'm glad you decided to post about the Office. I'm always glad to find others who appreciate the show. I wish i was more up to date, but i dont have a TV at the moment, so i have been trying to watch the episodes online nbc.com. Unfortunately the quality is really poor.
I love all of the characters but especially Phyllis, Stanley and Kevin.

Last night show was great. It was hilarious when Jim got caught by Karen. I was cringing but laughing so hard. Stanley,of course,is the best. Although of not greatest quality, I am glad that NBC decided to put on full episodes on their site instead of just "2 min replay" that they were doing.

I never got into "The Office" but I heard it's really good though!

Hi nice blog, I finally became hooked on the office as well. Funny funny stuff.

The NBC version is one of the high points of this mediocre fall season (that's probably about to be interrupted by the writers strike), and it is definitely worth tuning in to see every week (and checking out on DVD), and it's got it's own vibe, but the original BBC series is even better.

I realize how hackneyed it sounds (like going about how the book was better than the movie). But I heartily recommend checking it out (including the two specials that came after the two seasons).

I agree about this recent season of The Office. I haven't watched it past the first few episodes. It just seem stale to me. Honestly, even if the plots of the episodes are new I can pretty much guess what the characters are going to say. They made each character into such a cliche that it's gotten boring.

And why would someone post merely to state that they don't watch television?

I've tried to watch the Office, but it's a little weird to me. On must see Thursdays (NBC) there is a new sitcom called the Class. I've REALLY been enjoying that. It's similiar to Friends (if you like that sort of thing...which I do...lol!)

Andrea, your site is great, we host an Oscar party every year during the Academy Awards, so we really appreciate movie and television afficionados like yourself. Carrell is a major talent, and we strongly urge everyone to see his new flick; Sandler's Wedding Singer was the first time anyone got a hint at his ability to do dramedy

We also would encourage you to read more about us at our owb site, http://www.ouradoptionwish.com As you can probably guess, we trying to build our own family -- so we can start seeing more of the Disney Channel shows!

Best always, Karen and Doug

The Office is one of the best shows on TV. I think that Steve Carrell is a comedic genius, even if Evan Almighty was a bit of a disappointment. I also LOVE Stanley, but Dwight is my fave. If you haven't seen it already, try "Pushing Daisies". The writing is fabulous and it's an adorable show. Thanks for the great blog!

Do you put the label section below your posts or is that automatic? I'm very new to this.

Thanks, keep up the good work

Hey there I've just hopped on to blogspot.com I saw the British version of The Office before the U.S. one came out. I saw about three episodes and loved it. I couldn't get into the American one as I was biased...and I even like Steve Carrell (sp). Should I give the U.S. version another shot or should I move on?

I totally dig your blog! I agree that you went from the beginning of the show and catch up to what is happening now. I do that as well when I start to watch a new show. In my opinion my favorite season is season two.

Keep it up and happy blogging!

Office is nice. The american one is so much better than the uptight british one. Try curb your enthusiam that is another show which is very similar to office in it's style.

One question: how could anyone watch a show that was stolen by the US and turned into something that completely bypasses the true british humour that made "The Office" what it was?

Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant must be so ashamed.

Sorry, this isn't an attack or anything; I love your blog, but this is just a bit of a sore subject with me. lol.

Hello, i found your blog randomly and i saw that you love the o.c.

also, (this is going to sound creepy..) i was looking at your "about me" and i noticed that we have a lot in common-perhaps you are into knitting or crocheting and didn't bother to write it as an interest?

thank-you! I didn't find the episode you mentioned, but I am watching the 'Launch Party' episode. I especially like the IM-ing between the website and Dwight. Look like I have something to watch now! thanks again!

I love this show also. I only just recently started watching The Office. I saw one episode from this season, the one where Dwight, Michael, and Jim go to Uttica, and I went out and bought the first 3 seasons on DVD. I think my favorite scene from the series so far is when Jim sends Dwight faxes the are supposed to be from "Future Dwight" and tells him the coffe is poisoned and more instrutions will follow. Priceless!

Dwight is the Best. The characters just get funnier with each episode, i remember the first season was that internal funny. No laughing out loud but it was retrospectively funny talking about it after the fact. Still is, i crack up thinking of various dwight moments
