I wish...
that they would put Freddy's Nightmares out on DVD. I've never seen it and was totally not cognizant of its existence at the time it was one, but I bet it's awesome. Plus, I read that one episode goes into Freddy's backstory which, despite rumors to the contrary, I am pretty sure they are never going to explore in a prequel. No one wants to see a movie about a child molester/murderer, especially not a wisecracking one. I know there are always debates about whether Freddy was actually a molester or JUST a murderer but 1. what a dumb thing to argue about, even on the Internet and 2. I think it's pretty clear that he was both. Anyway, I know I said a few posts ago that anthologies never work, but I think they work much better on TV than in a movie.

i never had any feeling about this guy,
He's a murderer, yeah ok ..
he lived in a dream and kill people when they sleep, I thought he wasted too much time ( and mine too ) ... just kill them and get it over with.
but that's just me
you have every right to like or dislike about anything
The program sucked. It wasn't half as entertaining as it could have been . . . they could have done so much more with it than they did.
whats with all the horror movies. a fice year old can make one. dont you watch any real flicks?
i totally agree with u that "series" do not really work successfully in films. people would always try to draw demarcations between which instalment is better compared to the others. even rowlings and her producers were confronted with the same problem...what more with the rings?
i always took him for a TEEN molester
That's a film.
I like horror film a little, so their "series" will make me boring...:-(
I only saw one episode in the series and that was enough. It wasn't very entertaining . I agree with Grum....it could have been so much better. It just seemed rushed and not very well thought out.
I do free blog reviews for anyone that requests one on my blog, feel free to stop in.
I agree!
: )
I enjoy your blog - I found you from the home page. I'm starting to write about TV if you want to check me out at www.conster-conway.blogspot.com. Oh, and since you seem to be a fan of scary movies, let me give you some advice. Don't bother watching "Hostel II" if you haven't already. It SUCKED.
Cheers!
I always thought he was a guy who everyone thought was a child molester but wasn't--he was wrongly accused and killed and now he haunts the kids of his killers and kills them in his dreams...but I was more a follower of Michael Myers then Freddy...so I may have made that up...
Found you on the homepage--enjoying reading. Come by and visit sometime!
I remember watching this program when I was younger-it was highly disappointing.
I remember this series, it was just a way to make more money off the Freddy character. Nothing important every happened to further the lore of Krueger.
Good 'ol Freddy....honestly I thought a crazed killer in a dream that you couldn't kill...because he was in a dream..was cool...until they kept making movie after movie...but I have to admit...he had me scared out of my wits!
As a kid Freddie seemed scary but as an adult its kinda cheese. But for its time it had something that made people watch. What I wanna know is why Marquette Williams new film UNSPEAKABLE is not on Netflix? Its from his new company Cinema 2:16 starring Elimu Nelson and it was sooooo good, and sooo darn scary! I know there will be some more free screening as well as an online screening of Unspeakable. I know a lot of you are not hip to his work but this guy is really trying to say something and push the cinema envelope so to speak. Here are some links that I found on youtube. No one is talking about him and I just don’t know why.

Found your blog on the homepage. I'm surprised that this isn't out on DVD either. I never watched it while it was on t.v. I love horror and I'd watch at least one episode to see how it was.
Quite a funny blog you have here, although I'm not sure I agree with the suggestion that anthologies never work.....
hey there.. i saw freddy's nightmares when i was like 11 and i thought it was great! well, the first episode was great, where they go into his origins.
It was faboulously cheesey to watch the old Freddies Nightmares TV show, I loved it for its campy feel. Remember seeing several of the episodes, not sure how many they had.
